Lust is a strong negative feeling that directs one to do the wrong things, a very strong sexual desire. Behind every lust feeling there is a demon propelling it. There is a time you promise yourself am not going to fornicate, masturbate, do prostitution and homosexuality but when this lust feeling comes it sweeps away your thought and you forget the promises you made to yourself. I call that lying to one self.
A man who cannot stand for something, they can fall for everything.
After committing the sinful act it’s when your senses hit you so hard that you have indeed sinned. It’s very important to know that such ‘lust’ feelings are influenced and pumped by demonic power to do away with your life. That’s why when that feeling comes it’s hard to control yourself and you find yourself committing sin and doing the ‘lust’ action. After the sin you regret and the reality hits you.
How am I going to overcome it?
How am I going to overcome it? Am glad you are asking this. Lust can be avoided by embracing several principles. These principles will act as your guide and boundary between yourself and ‘the lust world’. You will achieve personal development and success over lust tendencies the moment you respect your principles and self. Lust will always give birth to addiction and addiction will give birth to destruction to one self.
For example, indulging yourself in sexual affairs starts by testing, after that you start craving for the act because you would like to experience that spontaneous feeling brought by the sacred activity. This will go on until it becomes a habit unconsciously, and at the end it becomes an addiction which leads to unreversed destruction to your health and growth.
We all want to inherit the kingdom of God, but it’s unless we defeat SIN, it will remain a story. We can’t overcome lust that is being influenced by demons by our mortal state, it can’t work that way. Demons are spirits and for us to fight spirits then we have to be in SPIRIT.
That is the only way to overcome the lust in our lives. Galatians 5:16 says: walk in the spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Paul was giving a remedy to lust feelings that for us to overcome it then we must walk in the spirit. The spirit should guide the flesh. Anything that reveals itself in the physical, it first happens in the spirit. We have to overcome the lust by walking in the spirit. We can do all things through Christ who gives us strength.
